Chat communities

Chat communities are where people ask each other for advice every day. They are the slowest channel to pay off and the easiest to get wrong: most ban drive-by promotion, several are paid or vetted, and the value comes from being a known member before you ever mention a launch.

How to use chat communities

  1. Join weeks before you need it, and answer other people’s questions first.
  2. Read the community's promotion rules and post only in the channel they name, such as a showcase or i-built-this channel.
  3. Share what you learned building the product, and let people ask for the link.
